Check out our 2023 Summer Camp Experience

What an AMAZING summer camp experience we had in July 2023. A vibrant crew of 115 children (2nd-6th grade) and 51 adult leaders made a gazillion positive shared memories together. Check out the highlight video that captured many of the moments. Our theme was, "Be Heroic" and we enjoyed learning about Biblical characters and modern people that demonstrate what it looks like to be heroes of faith in Jesus.

At the heart of TYM Camp is...
Relationships and Resilience

For over 30 years TYM has been committed to making sure that every child will have the opportunity to have a high-quality Summer camp experience. While the amazing FUN that is created is a big part of camp, young campers in their end-of-week reflections tell us their favorite part of camp was the relationships with their leaders and fellow campers. Many of our campers have faced trials and traumas at a young age. Because of that, all our programs aim to help urban kids develop the skills to strengthen their resilience to face the diversity of challenges in life. Enjoy the video below where several of our camp leaders share their experiences of authentic relationships with campers.

Answers to Common Questions

Yes. We depart from Richmond early afternoon of Saturday, July 6th, and transport campers to Alliance Redwoods by bus. As a team, they eat, play, and bunk together for 5 days and 4 nights. Campers return to Richmond around lunchtime on Wednesday, July 10th.

Our typical cabin team consists of six children matched with two adult leaders. Each cabin is gender specific and clustered by similar age/grade.

We ask families to pay a $25/camper administration fee. We are committed to every family being able to send their child(ren) to a high-quality Summer camp experience. We fundraise over $100,000 each year to help pay for the camp fees, transportation, supplies, and staffing. Hundreds of individual donors generously partner with us so that your child can come to TYM Camp.
